About Our Soaps
What makes JoJoMae soaps different?
At JoJoMae, every bar is thoughtfully researched, purposefully formulated, and naturally scented using essential oils only — never synthetic fragrance oils. Our soaps are handcrafted in small batches with carefully chosen ingredients designed to balance cleansing, conditioning, longevity, and skin feel.

Are your soaps made with synthetic fragrance oils?
No. JoJoMae soaps are scented only with essential oils or left unscented.
Why do artisan soaps cost more than store-bought soap?
Artisan soap is made very differently than mass-produced detergent bars. Each JoJoMae bar is handcrafted in small batches using quality oils, butters, clays, botanicals, and essential oils. Many bars also involve detailed designs, layered pours, specialty ingredients, and long curing times.
In addition, every batch is researched, formulated, tested, cut, cured, labeled, and packaged by hand.
Why do bars vary slightly in appearance?
Because each batch is handmade, slight differences in color, swirl patterns, texture, or shape are completely normal. Natural ingredients can also vary over time. These small differences are part of what makes artisan soap unique.
Why do some bars have small imperfections, soda ash, or rustic textures?
Handcrafted soap is naturally imperfect. Occasional soda ash, texture variation, or small cosmetic differences do not affect the quality or safety of the soap. We focus on thoughtful formulation and performance first while still embracing the beauty of handmade craftsmanship.
Do you make custom soaps?
Custom and personalized soaps may be offered in the future for events, gifts, allergies/preferences, or specialty requests. Stay tuned as JoJoMae grows.
Ingredients & Skin Questions
Are your soaps good for sensitive skin?
Many customers prefer artisan soap because of the thoughtfully selected ingredients and simpler formulations. However, every person’s skin is different.
We always recommend reviewing the ingredient list carefully, especially if you have allergies or sensitivities.
What does “naturally scented” mean?
It means scent comes from essential oils, botanicals, or naturally occurring ingredient aromas — not synthetic fragrance blends.
Because essential oils behave differently than synthetic fragrances, some bars may have softer or more subtle scents.
Do essential oils stay strong forever in soap?
No. Essential oils naturally soften and evolve over time. Some scents remain stronger longer than others. This is one of the trade-offs of using natural scent sources rather than synthetic fragrance oils.
Are your soaps vegan?
Some are, and some are not. Individual product pages will clearly indicate whether a soap is vegan.
Do your soaps contain palm oil?
Some formulations may contain sustainably sourced palm oil while others do not. Ingredient lists are always provided on each product page.
Using & Caring for Your Soap
How can I make my soap last longer?
To help your bar last longer:
- Allow it to dry fully between uses
- Use a draining soap dish
- Avoid letting it sit in standing water
- Keep unused bars in a cool, dry place
Handcrafted soap lasts longest when it can dry properly between uses.
Why does my soap feel different than commercial soap?
Commercial “soap” is often actually detergent-based. Handcrafted soap retains naturally occurring glycerin and is formulated differently, so texture, lather, and skin feel may vary from what you are used to.
Some bars may feel creamier, silkier, grippier, or more conditioning depending on the ingredients used.
What do the cleanse, scent, and texture symbols mean?
JoJoMae uses simple visual guides to help you choose the right bar for your preferences.

Orders & Shipping
How long does shipping take?
Processing times may vary depending on current inventory and order volume. Most ready-to-ship orders are processed within several business days.
You will receive tracking information once your order ships.
Do you accept returns?
Due to the personal nature of bath and body products, we generally do not accept returns on used items. However, if there is a problem with your order, please contact us — we want customers to have a positive experience.
What if my soap arrives damaged?
Please contact us within a few days of delivery with photos of the package and products so we can help make it right.
Does the shrink wrap completely seal the soap?
You may notice a small opening or tear in the shrink wrap. This can happen during the wrapping process and is completely normal. It does not affect the quality or safety of your soap. The wrap is there to help protect your bar while still allowing a little airflow.
